TikTok is a treasure trove of entertaining videos. Some videos have attempts at humor at the expense of other people, prank videos for example, while some videos are purely wholesome.
This particular story takes us on a literal journey of forgiveness, one wholesome trip that’s fit for a sitcom, wherein two people get into a misunderstanding because of a dog.
Angels aren’t they? But the photo above contains the culprit for everything that’s happened in the life of Mark Polchleb, an Australian resident who suffered just because he wanted to calm his dog down to get to his Doordash order.
How did he suffer, you may ask? The moment he yelled out, “Get away from the door, mate,” is the moment he unintentionally hurt the sweet, sweet man that’s just doing his job.
The TikTok video starts off with Polchleb looking guilty and asking the viewers to “please tell this sweet sweet Uber Eats man I was yelling at my dog and not at him” and added in the caption that he was genuinely losing sleep over what happened.
The video cuts to his doorbell camera with the ‘Uber Eats man’ standing outside the porch with Polchleb’s food, which was corrected in another video that it was a DoorDash delivery. The video’s a bit loud with the dogs barking uncontrollably but Polchleb can be clearly heard over all the commotion.
The TikTok had quite an amazing comedic timing, actually. The DoorDash man asked if Polchleb wanted him to leave the food in front of the door just before Polchleb shouted at the dogs. And DoorDash man, now identified as Sami, mistook the command and thought that Polchleb was talking to him. Sami stepped away from the door and stood outside the porch to wait for Polchleb and they wished each other a good night.
Under the TikTok video, which has over 44M views as of today, Polchleb said that he just wanted to clear everything up with Sami and that he didn’t realize the unfortunate mistake until later, “I just need him to know ? I only put two-and-two together when I was downing my Creme Brûlée McFlurry moments later.”
The cute, albeit embarrassing journey is documented all in Mark Polchleb’s TikTok here. He has uploaded multiple update videos in one of the videos, Polchleb shared incredible news regarding Sami. Along with them clearing up the misunderstanding, DoorDash Australia said that they will make Sami a Top Dasher for life and that they’ll be raising Sami’s pay on the week that they discovered what happened.
The moment we’ve all been waiting for came soon after they found Sami. “His daughter stumbled across my original TikTok after around 7 million views, and I was able to connect with her, and then her dad,” said Polchleb. The two were able to meet in person in Polchleb’s update video part 5 where Polchleb was finally able to say thanks in person to Sami and the rest of his family.
All in all, everyone’s got a happy ending. As Polchleb said, Sami finally knows that he was yelling at his dog and not him, and DoorDash Australia “have come to the party and sweetened the deal even more for him,” he said in one of his update videos.
