A woman has been left fighting for her life after a stabbing in Croydon as police have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Grenaby Avenue at around 2pm on Friday afternoon following reports of a disturbance at a South London home.
Met Police officers found a 29-year-old woman with stab wounds and provided first aid, before she was rushed to hospital by London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.
She remains in a critical condition in hospital.
A second woman, aged 23, was also treated for minor injuries.
A man, who police say was known to the two women, has since been arrested and remains in custody.

‘Police were called shortly before 2pm on Friday, June 9 to reports of a disturbance at a residential address in Grenaby Avenue, Croydon’, a spokesperson said.
‘Officers attended and found a 29-year-old woman suffering from stab injuries. They immediately provided first aid.
‘The London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance also attended. The woman was taken to a South London hospital where she remains in a critical condition. Her family has been informed.
‘A second woman, aged 23, was treated for a minor injury. A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in custody at a south London police station. A crime scene remains in place and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances. The man arrested is known to the two women.’
