Woman Discovers Her Father Isn’t Her Bio Dad After Anonymous Text Prompts Her Take A DNA Test

With the growing prevalence of DNA tests and databases, more and more people are learning about unknown secrets about their histories, families, and more. While sometimes those tests provide little more than some interesting historical information, they can also offer life-changing results.

Personally, I know a handful of people whose lives have been changed forever thanks to companies like 23andMe and Ancestory.com. One of my friends even discovered they have several siblings and aunts and uncles they had no idea about thanks to DNA testing.

For the majority of us, we might learn something interesting about our pasts or family DNA, but for others, their worlds will never be the same again.

Lane (who goes by @laneiscool14 on TikTok) is one such person who falls into the latter category. She shared her story on TikTok and revealed that she found out she had a biological dad who’d been watching her whole life!

In one 3-minute video, she explained that she received a anonymous text message from an unknown number, suggesting she gets an Ancestry.com DNA test.

When she replied and pressed for more information, the person behind the texts wouldn’t give away any more details, but they kept pushing her to do the test and stressed that it was important.

Eventually, Lane heeded their message and did the test, completely confused about the exchange. But when her DNA results were submitted, it all made sense. Not only was she matched to someone who she didn’t recognize, that person was coming back as her biological father!

In a follow-up video, Lane explained that her dad had found out about Lane she was young but Lane’s mom wouldn’t let him near. He allegedly always followed her on social media and kept up with her life. He even called her workplace one time just to hear her voice.

Understandably, realizing that her mom kept her dad away on purpose, despite him wanting to be involved, was quite jarring for Lane. It was so upsetting that she made the decision to cut her mom off completely.

Eventually, she was able to fly from her home in New York State to California to visit her biological dad and they got to enjoy 5 sweet days together.
