Married At First Sight’s relationship expert Mel Schilling has spoken out about the show’s editing techniques.
The 50-year-old said the show’s editing can be ‘biased’.
‘There is a level of editing that’s biased and is to create a story,’ Mel told Nova’s Separate Bathrooms podcast.

‘This show has morphed into something that is so big and such an entertaining juggernaut that that’s where the focus is.’
Mel also urged anyone who is ‘a bit fragile’ to avoid applying for the Channel Nine dating show.
‘I think the people that get the actual growth out of this process are the ones that have probably done a bit of work on themselves first,’ she explained.
‘There is a level of editing that’s biased and is to create a story. This show has morphed into something that is so big and such an entertaining juggernaut that that’s where the focus is,’ she said
‘So those more naïve characters that come into the experiment, and don’t really know how to manage themselves or to cope with that kind of pressure, I think, find it really hard.’
Mel went on to say: ‘And so, I wouldn’t recommend someone who was a bit fragile, going through the show.’

Mel denied producers intervened to Now to Love, even going as far as saying the cast were free to go if they wanted to while filming.
