Woman Saves Family Of 11 By Alerting Them Their House Is On Fire

A family of 11 is crediting a stranger with saving their lives after she alerted them that their house was on fire.

According to NBC Los Angeles, 23-year-old Haily Strong was driving home from a 4th of July party in Fairfield, Ohio when she spotted flames in the distance.

It was around 1:00am, and while many people might’ve kept driving home, Strong decided to drive toward the flames instead to make sure everything was ok.

Speaking with the Daily Mail, Haily said: “I honestly thought it was just a rogue firework or something at first, but I knew I wouldn’t sleep that night if I didn’t at least drive over and see what was going on.”

It’s a good thing she did because as she got closer to the flames, Strong realized it wasn’t a firework at all but a garage that was ablaze!

Haily can be seen on the home’s doorbell camera knocking frantically on the door and yelling, “Your guys’ garage is on fire!”

Haily banged on the door for around two minutes, with flames right beside her, before Josh answered the door.

Brittany Downing and Josh Ellis had been in bed watching tv while their 9 kids slept, completely unaware that a fire had broken out on the other side of their bedroom wall. No smoke detectors had gone off and it wasn’t until they heard Haily at the door that they realized something was wrong.

Josh and Brittany were able to evacuate all 9 kids from the home and made it out safely themselves!

“That’s an angel. She saved our family, no exaggeration about that. She stayed and she saved our family. I mean, the house was ablaze,” Josh said, according to NBC Los Angeles.

In an interview with WLWT, Brittany and mom of 9 said: “All the other outcomes that could have happened if she wouldn’t have stopped and knocked on the door, I don’t know if me and him would be here today for them kids.”
