If you struggle with chronic pain or other stress symptoms, your early life may have looked like this…

When you asserted your power — your innate, assertive life force — you got punished, laughed at or shamed.

And as a result, your own life force became associated with social rejection.

And as a result of that, your life force became a trigger for your fear.

And as a result of that, your body learned ways of shutting down your life force through methods like tensing, bracing and flaring up with symptoms like pain, panic, dizziness, etc etc etc.

The process of healing from chronic stress symptoms is also the process of embracing your power — your innate, assertive life force.

And we do this by unraveling the fears that got associated with our life force.

When we liberate our life force, it can feel as though a damn is breaking and all of this trapped energy that once wreaked havoc on our body is now channeling itself into something generative, like… passion, purpose or creativity!

If you’d like to get a little taste of what this might look like for you, here’s an expressive writing experiment you could try:

✍ With a pen and paper, ask: “Dear fear of my own life force, what are you feeling? What would you like me to know? What are you trying to protect me from?” And see what flows onto the page. ?

Now take a break, get up and stretch, and then come back for part two:

✍ With a pen and paper, ask: “Dear creative spark, what are you feeling? What would you like me to know? What are you inviting me into?” And see what flows onto the page. ?

If you try this out, send me a message and let me know how it goes. I’d love to hear!
