Toddler rushed to hospital with severe burns to his legs and chest after falling into a firepit at a Gold Coast home

A toddler has been rushed to hospital with severe burns after falling into a firepit.

Emergency services were called to a property in Tallai, located in the Gold Coast hinterland, at about 4pm on Saturday.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman told the Gold Coast Bulletin the toddler was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital.

He is in a stable condition but suffered burns on his legs and abdomen.
