A high school wrestler from Virginia has proven that you can do anything you set your mind to, despite any obstacles you may have to overcome.
17-year-old Adonis Lattimore was born without a right leg, a partial left leg, and only one fully functioning arm, but this didn’t stop him from achieving all of his wrestling goals.

“I cried a little bit,” Lattimore said when reminiscing about hearing the arena erupt in cheers after he he had won. “I watched so many finals from the stands or just from videos and to actually be the one to win it was a pretty surreal feeling.”

After his victory, his dad, Jerrold, ran onto the mat and gave his son a giant hug.
“Against all the doubt and odds, he did it,” Jerrold told ESPN. “I repeatedly said ‘I believe in you’ to Adonis when we were hugging each other once he won.”
His love for wrestling began when he was in elementary school, and although people would judge him by his appearance, he never let that stop him from competing.

Lattimore plans on continuing his wrestling career in college and studying computer science.
He hopes his story will inspire other young athletes to pursue whatever dream they are passionate about.
