A One Nation candidate has come under fire after pictures emerged showing her husband dressed up in blackface.
South Australian political hopeful Linda Champion’s husband Darren is seen wearing a black afro wig and with his face and body painted darker in a photo that emerged on Wednesday.
The picture showed Mr Champion wearing a sports tank top next to Ms Champion’s son Jimmy.

The post (pictured, the caption on the post) caused one person to respond saying, it’s ‘hardly a scandal’, while another quipped, ‘who cares’

One Nation leader Pauline Hanson (pictured when she visited Adelaide last week) is facing a new scandal after the re-emergence of the post by the husband of her candidate for Spence Linda Champion (far left)
When confronted over the pictures Ms Champion, the candidate for the seat of Spence, told the Adelaide Advertiser she wasn’t responsible for the pictures.
‘I have not worn ‘blackface’ and I did not post these images,’ she said.
The post was put up in 2012, before being republished again in 2016 with the caption, ‘brother from another mother’.
Mr Champion has since removed his Facebook page altogether.
One Nation declined to comment when approached by Daily Mail Australia, as did Ms Champion.
The image attracted criticism of Ms Champion on social media, with one Twitter user calling the use of blackface ‘pretty gross’.
Another, however, quipped it was ‘hardly a scandal’, with one more joking, ‘who cares’.
One Nation’s leader Pauline Hanson personally campaigned for Ms Champion in SA last week.
Ms Hanson was in town supporting Ms Champion and her Senate candidate Jennifer Game when she was approached by Rebecca Hammond, who asked her what she would do for the transgender community.
Ms Hammond claimed Ms Hanson told her it was the ‘choice’ of transgender people to be on hormones. Upset, she reportedly said: ‘It’s not. We were born this way.’
