Let us admit it. We are growing tired of the everyday bad news of our world. There’s the non-stop problem with the COVID-19 pandemic, economic distress, supply-chain problems, violence, and more.

Millions of people are now experiencing crisis fatigue — varying degrees of emotional numbness as worldwide events seem to worsen with skyrocketing prices of commodities and petroleum products, rising incidence rates of poverty and unemployment, starvation, climate change, and the ongoing war in Ukraine, where more innocent people are suffering from injustice.

And now, in addition to the virus that causes COVID-19, there’s monkeypox.

Many of us are losing interest in hearing what’s going on with each passing day because each new event just adds to the heavy burden we have been already carrying.

But this story will remind you of a golden lesson that mankind has long been taught — you may recognize the verse:

“Truly I say to you, unless you turn around and become as young children, you will by no means enter into the Kingdom of the heavens. Therefore, whoever will humble himself like this young child is the greatest in the Kingdom of the heavens.”

Tambria Currie re-discovered the joy of living amid our chaotic world when she chanced upon a vision of her son and their young neighbors.

Her son wanted to learn how to ride a bicycle, telling her about how one of his friends learned bike-riding even without training wheels.

But since she didn’t have the time, she promised to teach him one day.

However, her son opted to approach the young people in the neighborhood.

Later, Currie caught sight of them and was so surprised and touched by what she saw!

“He went & asked for help, & those babies helped with no problem. Didn’t tease my baby or nothing. We can learn something from this generation. It’s okay to ask for help. & it’s definitely okay to help each other, encourage each other, & love each other,” Currie wrote on Facebook.

Yes, there is something about children that makes life more bearable. Children remind us that we can continue loving every day, we can continue smiling despite all the problems, and we can freely support each other and grow strong together.
