A group pushing to legalize recreational marijuana in Ohio submitted over 6,500 additional signatures for their proposal on Wednesday, almost 10-times the number they need to make the November ballot.

The Coalition to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol turned in 6,545 signatures to Secretary of State Frank LaRose’s office, spokesman Tom Haren said. Advocates had 10 days to collect 679 more signatures after their initial batch came up short.

The group needs 124,046 signatures to qualify for the Nov. 7 election and submitted over 222,000 last month, but election officials determined some of them were invalid. That can happen if a person moved from the address provided or isn’t registered to vote.
