Being a mother of two can be exhausting, to say the least. Kids are unpredictable and can have tantrums and meltdowns regardless of the time or place.
This is something Devon Linden is all too familiar with.
Every week, Linden takes her two children to swam practice in their hometown of Bentonville, Arkansas. Despite being part of their routine, the kids don’t always cooperate.

According to 5 News Online, Linden said, “I was really honestly near tears just as a mom, trying to keep it together, and get my kids out of there.”

While many people would stare or judge such a situation, Linden experienced something unexpected. While trying to leave with her uncooperative kids in tow, a stranger approached Linden and handed her a little note.
The note read: “Your life and purpose is huge!! Life is so precious. Every day is a gift, so make it count. Enjoy!!”

Linden was amazed at the woman’s kindness. She told 5 News Online: “In a moment where she saw me struggling, she didn’t pass judgement on me, my kids, my parenting, anything that was happening. She just chose to bless me.”
The note was a sweet enough sentiment, but it wasn’t until Linden got to the car that she found she’d been blessed with even more generosity. Rolled into the note was $100!
Seeing the money was enough to make Linden break into tears.

She went on to say that she hopes to be like “this lady” and be “impactful in the best way.” She also wants to teach her kids to show kindness to others like she was shown and to spread acts of kindness everywhere they go.
Speaking with 5 News Online, Linden said she’d like to thank the woman who gifted her the note. She said, “Really just thank you for seeing me in a hard time and really just giving me exactly what I needed in that moment to feel like I can spend my day being a good mom and person.”
The world could use more acts of kindness and reminders that it’s ok to have hard days and it doesn’t make us any less of a person.
