On behalf of our global heart valve community, I want to thank Medtronic, one of the world’s largest medical companies and a leading heart valve manufacturer, for the special invitation to speak at the upcoming American College of Cardiology’s 70th Annual Scientific Session & Expo!!!

It’s really fantastic to see that Medtronic wants to integrate our new patient research in this very important discussion about heart valve treatment.

As you may know, the ACC is a leading educational association comprised of 54,000+ members including physicians, registered nurses and many other experts. In our community, the ACC is applauded and recognized for managing the heart valve disease treatment guidelines along with the American Heart Association.

An Honor to Present Our New Patient Research

Needless to say, it is a great honor to be invited to speak at the ACC meeting.

Specifically, I have been asked to participate in a unique symposium titled, “A Practical Approach to Shared Decision-Making When Treating Heart Valve Disease”, on Sunday, May 16 at 3:45pm EST. During the symposium, the panel of several heart valve experts will:

  • Clarify how shared decision-making relates to heart valve disease treatment
  • Provide actionable insights and resources to reinforce shared decision-making concepts
  • Share examples of how these practices can impact patients

I really appreciate how Medtronic and the ACC are working together to provide patients a unique opportunity to be heard within the context of shared decision-making for valvular treatment.

And… Thanks to our recent survey – which received 2,000+ patient responses in just 4 days – I will have some insightful new findings to present during the symposium.
