A man believed to be armed is holed up at a home in Logan, southeast Queensland, with police imposing an exclusion zone as officers try to negotiate with him.
Shortly after 12am on Thursday police arrived at a Chambers Flat Road property in Logan Reserve, 40km southwest of Brisbane CBD, following reports of a disturbance.
An emergency situation was declared at about 6am with residents told to stay in their homes and officers directing traffic from the area.

‘Police began negotiations with a man, who is in the residence alone and is believed to be armed,’ police said in a statement.
Police made the declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act, with an exclusion zone encompassing Chambers Flat Road, School Road and Logan Reserve Road imposed.
Included in the exclusion zone is Logan Reserve State School with students due to starts classes at 9am.
Members of the public are advised to avoid the area and those within the exclusion zone should remain indoors until further notice.
