Wondering how to cure a hangover? The best “cure” is to not get one in the first place –sorry for the snark!

Autoimmune Disease and Detoxing

For those of us with autoimmune disorders and detox pathway issues such as the MTHFR mutation, alcohol can act like a poison to our system.

How to Cure a Hangover

That said, here are my favorite tips for how to cure a hangover!

How to Get Over a Hangover: Rehydrate

Drinking alcohol in excess is incredibly dehydrating. The most important part of your hangover cure will be to drink healthy liquids like water.

Yes, water –it’s free, so guzzle up!

Bone Broth Hangover Cure

Bone broth contains electrolytes as well as crucial vitamins and minerals that can help you recover from a hangover.

Try my Ginger and Turmeric Bone Broth recipe to help with nausea.

To make it, heat up Kettle & Fire bone broth, then add ground ginger, ground turmeric, and a pinch of sea salt.

Chia Water Detox

I love chia water because fiber is a good way to prevent that nasty entero-hepatic recirculation cycle that may be caused by drinking alcoholic beverages.

Wondering how do you make Chia Water?

Simply grab a 1-quart mason jar, fill it with water, and stir in 1-2 teaspoons of organic chia seeds.

Let the Chia Water stand for at least 2 hours in order to allow the chia seeds to hydrate and release their soothing soluble fiber.

Chia water will not only help you stay hydrated it provides nutrients and valuable fiber.

This fiber assists in sweeping the toxins contained in alcohol out of your system more rapidly and efficiently.

Vita Coconut Water

Coconut Water for Hangover

Coffee Migraine Breaker

Really? Coffee? Yes, although it can be a double edged sword.

Coffee has caffeine which can relieve the symptoms of a migraine from a hangover, providing good pain relief.

On the other hand, coffee, like alcohol, is a diuretic and so can further dehydrate you.

dandelion root coffee
