Heroic Grandma Chased Away a Thief to Protect Her Neighbor’s House

A thief got the surprise of his life when a 74-year-old woman in a dressing gown ran across the street to confront him at her neighbor’s house which he was trying to rob.

The courageous grandmother, Charmaine O’Halloran, did not hesitate to stop the robbery after receiving a call from her neighbor Dallas Mailman. Dallas had left for work, but he was alerted by his security camera that someone was in his house.

After learning that her neighbor needed help, Charmaine did not take the time to change clothes but rushed to her neighbor’s house instead. She chanced upon the thief, who quickly ran for the door to escape.

Charmaine chased after the young man across the backyard, and a security camera showed the thief getting into a car and riding away.

Charmaine was very relieved for having done something for Dallas, with whom she has been friends for years.

Dallas was also deeply thankful and impressed by Charmaine’s extraordinary courage which was proven by his video footage.

Crime rate in the Gold Coast District for the last two years since the coronavirus pandemic has gone down from 63,974 in 2019 to 55,726 in 2021 for all offenses.

Nevertheless, police authorities and Gold Coast residents have remained vigilant due to the socio-economic effects of the global health crisis. Also, drug-related crimes must be dealt with until the problem is completely gone.

For the months of January and February 2022, there were 424 and 465 drug offenses. When it comes to unlawful entry, there were 356 and 320 cases respectively. The two are interconnected in some ways since those who commit unlawful entry are often drug dependents.
