Beloved Nine News reporter Tracy Vo got engaged on Thursday when her partner Liam Connolly proposed next to Miri Miri Falls in Western Australia.

The ex-Today newsreader, 38, was beaming as she held up a glass of white wine and posed in a bathing suit, showing off her flashy engagement ring by the waterfall.

She shared the happy news on Instagram, saying: ‘He took me to Miri Miri and asked me to marry him. I cried, I swore and then I said yes.’

He politely asked the heckler to leave them alone while Tracy said she remained calm and kept a smile on her face during the ordeal.

Last week marked 44 years since Tracy’s parents arrived in Perth as refugees after fleeing Vietnam in the late 1970s.

Her decision to move back was prompted by her elderly father suffering from Morvan Syndrome, a rare autoimmune disease.

‘I really miss the Today show guys and it was just a family decision, purely a family decision,’ Tracy said at the time.

‘I’m still part of the family and I really miss them – but it was just one of those things, I had to do it, you know.’
