The elderly athlete always walks once a day, but has been walking twice a day at a local stadium with his daughter to prepare for the championship.

“Getting into sports made me strong and well,” he told Reuters. “As well as this, exercising helps improve your appetite so you eat well too.”
Not only is Janpram in good physical health, but his daughter, Siripan, says he is also mentally stronger.

“My father is a positive-thinking man, he never thought of things in any other way, Siripan said. “He always has positive thoughts and is in a good mood, so he is in great mental health condition. In terms of physical health, he has gotten much stronger. Before he got into sports, his hands were trembling but it has since stopped. Exercising has played a big part in that.”
Janpram and his incredible athleticism is definitely proving that age is just a number!

Janpram isn’t the only senior competing in the championship. According to Viwat Vigrantanoros, president of Asia Masters Athletes, the number of participants when the championship started in 1996 went from 300 to now more than 2,000 in the age group of 35 to 102 years.
