President Joe Biden said Monday that he has ‘faith’ in the New York Police Department and in the U.S. legal system, as New York braces for unrest ahead of former President Donald Trump‘s arraignment on Tuesday.

Biden had traveled to suburban Minneapolis Monday afternoon to tout engine maker Cummins Inc.’s $1 billion green tech investment, which will allow the company to produce low to zero-carbon engines.

As he toured the facilities alongside Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith and Rep. Ilhan Omar, Biden was asked by if he was concerned about unrest.

‘No, I have faith in the New York Police Department,’ the president answered.

Asked if he had faith in the U.S. legal system, the president responded with a ‘yes.’

Thursday’s indictment of Trump over his role in the Stormy Daniels hush-money probe was a historical first – as no other former president has faced criminal charges.

Trump and his political allies have portrayed the grand jury’s decision to indict as politically motivated as Manhattan’s District Attorney Alvin Bragg is a Democrat.

For weeks, Trump has nudged his supporters to ‘protest’ the indictment – so New York is preparing for unrest.

Biden has tried to stay above the fray, offering a ‘no comment’ Friday morning when asked about Trump’s indictment as he departed for a tornado-ravaged part of Mississippi.

But the White House said earlier Monday that they were prepared for there to be political unrest surrounding Trump’s arraignment.

‘We’re watching this closely as you might expect,’ National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told reporters on a call Monday.

One of Trump’s top Congressional allies, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, said she plans to headline a demonstration Tuesday in New York in support of Trump.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams warned Greene and other MAGA faithful that they should be on their best behavior.

‘Although we have no specific threats, people like Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is known to spread misinformation and hate speech – she stated she is coming to town,’ the New York City mayor said at a press conference.

‘While you’re in town. Be on your best behavior,’ Adams said. ‘As always, we will not allow violence or vandalism of any kind. And if one is caught participating in any act of violence, they will be arrested.’

‘While there may be some rabble rousers thinking about coming to our city tomorrow, our message is clear and simple: control yourselves,’ Adams said. ‘New York City is our home, not a playground for your misplaced anger. We are the safest large city in America because we respect the rule of law in New York City.’
