The Late Late Show with James Corden welcomed Lizzo for a round of “Carpool Karaoke” and the singer did not disappoint.
Lizzo and Corden not only had a blast singing along to popular hits, but they also had some heart-to-heart moments where Lizzo opened up about her stage name and her heroes.
As the two drove along the road, they sang to some of Lizzo’s top hits, including “Good as Hell,” “Truth Hurts,” and “Juice.”

Speaking with Corde, Lizzo explained, “When I was shyer, when I didn’t think I was cool, and when I was getting picked on, I would listen to Beyoncé in my bedroom and it would transport me. I would feel something, I would feel like my life is gonna be better. There’s hope for me…The way she makes people feel is how I want to make people feel with music.”

In the end, the two had to make a quick stop to finish their karaoke session so Lizzo could teach Corden the viral dance that Jaeden Gomez choreographed to “About Damn Time.” The dance became a TikTok sensation and Lizzo wanted to try it out with Corden while singing the song together.
It seemed to be an impromptu dance party at first, but it was actually a choreographed bit with Gomez, herself, making an appearance!

It was the perfect way to end an already awesome Carpool Karaoke!
