A troop of Boy Scouts are being considered heroes for helping save lives after the Amtrak train they were on collided with a dump truck in Missouri.
According to Fox 6 Now, the June 27 accident killed four people and hospitalized 150 more.
It’s possible, however, that more injuries or deaths would’ve occurred if the Boy Scouts hadn’t been onboard the train that day.

The crash caused two of the locomotives to derail, along with eight cars that were carrying passengers. Among those train cars were a group of Boy Scouts and their leaders.

TODAY reports that the boys helped injured passengers exit through the derailed cars’ windows, helped stabilize and reassure injured passengers and comforted the fatally wounded dump truck driver.
Some of the Boy Scouts that helped were as young as 14 years old! Nothing the boys learned in the scouts could’ve prepared them for the accident, but what training they did have under their belts definitely kicked in to play.
