Pui Tsang is 92 years old, but you’d never think it after seeing how active he is.
Tsang credits Tai Chi to helping his body build up immunity, and says it exercises all parts of his body.
He first learned Tai Chi in Hong Kong in the parks, where he went to different martial arts schools in the area.

Since it is such a gentle exercise, it’s the perfect “sport” to do at any age, especially as you get older and want to stay active without overworking yourself.

“As you move, you breathe deeply and naturally, focusing your attention – as in some kinds of meditation – on your bodily sensations,” an article from Harvard Health reads. “Tai chi differs from other types of exercise in several respects. The movements are usually circular and never forced, the muscles are relaxed rather than tensed, the joints are not fully extended or bent, and connective tissues are not stretched. Tai chi can be easily adapted for anyone, from the most fit to people confined to wheelchairs or recovering from surgery.”

Tsang wants others to know that just because you age, it doesn’t mean you can’t live an active and exciting life. He said aging doesn’t stop you from doing anything, and Tai Chi is the perfect exercise for your aging body.
In addition to helping himself, Tsang also loves to help others. He teaches fellow residents at his retirement community, Atria Aladen, in San Jose.
