Henry Richard finished his first Boston Marathon and it was all in honor of his brother, Martin Richard.
Martin was tragically murdered in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings that shook the world. He was just 8-years-old, and Henry was just 10.
That was nearly one decade ago now, but the pain of that day continues to impact people around the world – including the Richard family.

20-year-old Henry ran the race with Team MR8 to raise money for the Martin Richard Foundation.

The foundation was founded in Martin’s honor after the bombings “to advance the values of inclusion, kindness, justice and peace.”
In a video shared on Twitter, you can see Henry crossing the finishing line and embracing his mom and sister. It’s a touching and powerful moment.

According to The Independent, Henry said: “It’s great to get here finally. It’s been years in the making for me so I’m just so happy I could finally be here. I know Martin would have been doing it with me — so happy to finish it, that’s all I can think about.”
