Whether you were into sports or not growing up as a kid, you probably felt some amount of pressure – be it your parents or peers – to join something at some point in either junior high or high school.
For me, it was volleyball in junior high. I wasn’t the greatest at it, but there was a certain pressure to join the girls’ volleyball team because all the girls in the class were doing it. I spent a good two years not really liking it but playing anyway because when you’re twelve, you easily give in to peer pressure.
While my time on the volleyball team was pretty underwhelming, my dad was still there for every game to cheer me on. That is a lot of dads do. They show up and cheer on their little girls no matter what sport they’ve decided to play.

It is a special moment for any young child playing sports to make their first score. It means that much more when they’re able to share it with their parents.

The ball just glides through the air in a perfect arch and easily slides into the net with ease. What was more heartwarming, was the fact that he was able to hug her straight after, and let her know how proud he was.
