Watching our parents grow old can be emotional and challenging. We want to do our best to make them comfortable and bring them joy in any way possible, just like they did for us when we were little.
Lisa McDonald and her sister were recently dealing with their aging mother in palliative care. She was deteriorating quickly and Lisa wanted to do something special to make her last days a little bit brighter.
Lisa started thinking and that’s when she came up with a brilliant plan. As she shared in the popular Facebook group, The Kindness Pandemic, her mom loves Bambi and always has. She has Bambi statues and will even be buried wearing a Bambi shirt.

She started searching and found a couple who owned a mobile petting zoo just a few hours from them. According to the Daily Mail, Lisa reached out to the couple and they agreed to bring a fawn to visit the following day.
Unfortunately, Lisa’s mother began to decline rapidly that same day and they feared she wouldn’t survive to see the deer the following day. After letting the couple know, they ended up driving the fawn over two hours to visit that very day!

“Mum deteriorated quickly today and Simone and Chris didn’t hesitate… they drove two and a half hours to bring Bambi to meet mum. Out of pure love and kindness. I cannot thank them enough for what they have done for my mum and my family,” Lisa said, according to the Daily Mail.
The fawn’s name ended up being Bambi, which was a nice touch. Lisa shared photos and videos of the mom meeting the deer and it’s too precious. She posted the photos and videos in the Facebook group and you can see the excitement in the mom’s eyes:

Many people were moved by the interaction and touching reaction the mom had to meeting little Bambi.
