FDA Approves the Omnipod 5

The Omnipod 5 is FINALLY FDA approved for ages 6+

The system will increase, decrease or suspend insulin delivery to help keep glucose at target levels updating what it’s doing in the background every 5 minutes.

One major perk is that there will be direct communication between the cgm and pump so the smartphone/pdm will not need to be nearby. Users will be able to adjust the target glucose 110 mg/dl -150 mg/dl.

The trial participants saw improved time in range, less time spent both hypoglycemic and hyperglycemic, and improved A1cs.
